About
About British Born A-Z
This blog was set up to archive a collection of personal experiences and academic essays primarily focusing on issues first-generation Asians face within the UKThough racism and exclusion are obvious issues, this blog aims to look beyond the surface. It will attempt to engage in academic analysis and highlight the societal impact and implications on first generation citizens. These topics are an important conversation, as we now begin to pave the way for the second and third generation. It is the best time to commemorate the struggles, achievements, and methods that the UK has experienced in attempting to integrate the wave of a global generation born here. It is the best time to gather primary sources and opinions before the rise of the right becomes a threat or integration becomes a norm. It is the best time to contribute towards the awareness of the growing globalised world and add as a general comment on the growing British culture.
The purpose of the research is to not point blame at society or victimise British born Asians but to rather act as an observation of the current situation and topical discussions. It aims to look at both the positive and negative issues of their ability to integrate into British society. It will also generate sub-questions such as the effectiveness of the ethnic diversity forms, conflict of cultural identity, pressures from the immigration generation, and social inclusion.
